rec·on·dite [rek-uh
n-dahyt, ri-kon-dahyt]
| 1. | dealing with very profound, difficult, or abstruse subject matter. |
When someone says something obscure, that can be considered recondite subject matter.
The word comes from Latin roots, meaning "to store back," i.e., "out of the way," hence "to hide"; Recondite knowledge is "hidden" from the understanding of the average person.
So let's continue to build up our respecitvely recondite vocabularies by learning more obscure words!
